Classes take place in Guelph .  Location "The Town Hall" in the Village of Riverside Glen 60 Woodlawn Rd E., 
Guelph, 7-9 pm
12 sessions of Traditional Irish Dance + End of Semester Ceili Celebration, date TBA.
$240 Instruction will include a variety of traditional Irish dances genres such as Group Set and Ceili dancingSolo Set and Sean nos dancing.
Based on the mythical, lyrical heart of the Irish peoples age old Irish Dance traditions are being carried forward in a manner that is fresh, yet faithfully steeped in the beauty of the past. Classes are intentionally kept light, but well-structured. All lessons deliver a solid foundation in timing, footwork, body positioning and performance presence. Previous dance experience is not required. A desire to learn is a must. Street or dress shoes only. Optional opportunities to participate in local community, special events, or seniors' residences exist as time and interest allows. Individuals welcome - no partner required. The instructor, Marilyn Abraham, is a Co-Founder and Instructor of Celtic Thunder Academy of Irish dance located in Centre Wellington.
As a child, Marilyn was introduced to Canadian Step Dancing and Rural Ontario Square Dancing; then, as a mom to Irish Dance. A combination akin to striking gold! Her eclectic training has enabled her many opportunities to study under local and world renowned Irish dancers and teachers. Marilyn recently earned high honours in both her TMRF Irish Dance Teachers' qualifications and her Dance Part 2 certification for teaching Dance in Ontario's schools. In addition, Marilyn is the founder of Spring Rain Weekend - an Irish Cultural Weekend and Canada's first Open Platform Feis. Alongside instructing at Celtic Thunder and hosting Spring Rain, Marilyn, in her other life, teaches high school.
